Feyenoord Academy held

Accra, Dec 23, GNA - Gomoa Fetteh-based Feyenoord Academy were on Tuesday held to a one all draw in their last tie of the middle league encounter by Bibiani Gold Stars when the two locked horns at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Feyenoord who had nothing but their pride to play for, having already qualified to the next premiership, played a more aggressive game in search of the winner and after series of attempt at goal they managed to score the opener through Nana Akwasi Asare in the 78th minutes. Asare shot home when he capitalised on a defensive blunder on the part of the Gold Stars defence, who had being on guard all afternoon repulsing all the dangerous, moves by the youthful attackers of the Feyenoord club.

After a highly contested first half, both teams lifted up their game after the recess, but it was Feyenoord who dominated play with their flair and exciting inter-positional play that left the Bibiani lads chasing their shadows.

The Sam Arday lads suddenly reduced the seriousness in the tempo of the game and allowed their opponents to press forward, pinning them into their own half and in one of their various forays upfront, substitute Agyare Kofi levelled up for Gold Stars in the dying minutes of the game with a low grounder to also book their ticket to the premiership.
