Ferns Stars win bronze in Dana Cup

Dansoman-based division two side Ferns Stars F/C made Ghana proud by clinching a bronze medal in the just-ended Dana Cup in Denmark when they overpowered some big European youth clubs such as Werder Bremen and Norway’s Alee Sund.

The director of the club Mr. Count Laah expressed satisfaction at the performance of the boys, which he described as “wonderful”.He said though the team arrived in Denmark very late it still managed to put up a good performance, which attracted the attention of football agents, and a club in Norway is interested in adopting it.

Currently talks are ongoing between the managers of the Dansoman club and the Norwegians.Mr. Laah who declined to disclose the name of the Norwegians also told the newspaper that the team’s impressive performance has earned it an invitation to play some Italian clubs.

Ferns stars will begin their quest for another glory tomorrow (Wednesday) when they take on Werder Bremen in the opening match of the ADIDAS CUP in Germany.

In the third place match Ferns Stars dispatched Alee Sund 2-1 to win bronze.
