Fatau Dauda sure of Orlando Pirates fate

Ghana shot-stopper Fatau Dauda is now sure he will not be considered for the first-choice role at Orlando Pirates after he was left among the substitutes for their Nedbank Cup game on Saturday.

South African goalkeeper Mewiya Senzo held down his place in post as the Black Stars goalkeeper warmed the bench at the uMhlathuze Sports Complex in Richards Bay, as Pirates crawl from behind to beat Thanda Royal Zulu 3-1 on penalties following a dramatic 3-3 result after extra-time.

Dauda had been given hope of making appearances three weeks ago after replacing an injured Senzo and went ahead to complete full-time in the league game, but was dropped by interim coach Eric Tinkler for the next game and insisted the former AshGold keeper will not be his first choice.

However, after being snubbed for the League Cup, it has become pretty obvious he will not be playing regularly for the club until the end of the season.

Per the standing FIFA player transfer regulation, Dauda could quit Pirates at the end of the season as a free agent as he has not featured in over 10 percent of games for the club this season.
