Fameyeh calls for more experienced players

Former Under-17 and Accra Hearts of Oak, goal poacher, Joseph Fameyeh, has called on officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Black Stars technical team, to cast their net wide by inviting experienced players to strengthen the Black Stars team ahead of the CAN 2008 next January.

Fameyeh, who plays for German side TSV Crailsheim, made this known during an interview with a German Radio Station last Saturday after being named the man-of-the match in their league against Stuttgarter Kickers, when after impressive performance; he scored twice for his side in their 4-0 home win.

According to the former Hearts of Oak forward, Ghana cannot afford to let their chase for a fifth African title slip by. “We need to assembly the appropriate players who deserved to wear the national team jersey in order not to let the trophy elude us as host nation. Tunisia and Egypt won the trophy on home soil after holding the last two events, so we need to do same” he said.

However, touching on the Stars 5-0 defeat to Saudi Arabia, in an international friendly game played last Tuesday, the former Under-17 star claims he will not like to blame any member of the playing body for the defeat since after getting in touch with some of the players after the game, they claimed almost every member of the team was tired ahead of the encounter since they got to the match venue only some few hours to the game

Lastly, the player called on all Ghanaian soccer fans to extend their maximum support to the Black Stars team in order to win fifth title.
