Faisal holds Ashghold at Obuasi

Obuasi, Nov. 15, GNA - Visiting Kumasi King Faisal held Obuasi Ashantigold to a 1-1 drawn game in their 11 week outstanding Glo Premier League at the Len Clay pots stadium on Monday. The match was which was scheduled for Sunday night was rained off and had to be played on Monday.

Faisal right from Referee Joseph Lamptey's whistle for proceedings to start went into the attack and succeeded in taking the lead in the 27th minute when striker Abdul Wahab connected home a neat cross from Kojo Boateng and held unto it until the end of the first half. Ashgold came back from the recess a transformed side and led in attack by substitute Eric Fordjour, they mounted severe pressure on the Faisal defence but goal keeper Iddrisu Ibrahim was on hand to save some of the tricky situations.

The Miners, however, managed to level up the scores in the 60th minute when Fordjour laid a perfect pass across the goal line for Edmund Owusu Peprah to make no mistake than to easily shoot into a yawning net. The last minutes of the game saw Ashgold in a desperate effort to collect the three maximum points as they kept on surging forward but keeper Iddrisu foiled all their ,oves and attempts at goal till the final whistle. For the record, Faisal's Kwadwo Boateng and Abdul Wahab were shown the red in the 72nd and in the added on time for second bookable offences but the home team could not take advantage of the numerical advantage to win the match. 15 Nov. 10
