Faisal and Ashgold in a goalless drawn game

Kumasi, March 2, GNA - Kumasi King Faisal were held by Obuasi Ashgol= d to a goalless drawn game in their Glo Premier League match played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Wednesday.

Ashgold who have just chalked a win in the CAF continental match last Sunday against Sewe of Cote d'Ivoire did not play any impressive game as they allowed Faisal to face them squarely throughout the duration of the game. The strikers of both teams made a lot of misses even in front o f goal throughout the match which was watched by a sparse crowd.

Abdul Wahab of Faisal wasted a glorious chance in the 31st minute when he shot wide with only goalkeeper Fatau Dauda to beat with Frank Nyarko earlier on wasting an unpardonable opportunity in the 27th minute. With their pride at stake, Ashgold's Alhaji Sani nearly earned his s= ide the opener in the 42nd minute but his bicycle kick sailed over the bar in a goalmouth melee. The pattern of play did not change in the second session of the game a= s both teams, who even though were determined to play could not find the net as they squandered chances upon chances.

Mohammed Aminu of Ashgold hit the cross bar in the 58th minute while Yakubu Mohammed also wasted a begging chance three minutes later which angered Coach Popadic as they showed his frustration by booting off an empt= y Voltic water plastic bottle.

With the heat on Faisal, Sampson Cudjoe also hit the cross bar in the 85th minute to deny the Miner from carrying the day. At the Bekwai Gyamfi Park, New Edubiase held Kumasi Asante Kotoko to a pulsating 1-1 drawn game.
