Fabin assumes Lions reins

Paa Kwesi Fabin has taken charge of Heart of Lions on a temporary basis, three years after leaving the Kpando-based club.

The former Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak coach guided new premiership boys, Wassaman FC to the elite division but in a surprise move, was not retained.

Fabin takes over from Dutchman Hans Van der Plyum who quit his post on Monday.

The new man, who is also hoping to land the national U-17 coaching job says he would agree to a permanent deal with Lions if the Black Starlets move falls through.

“I have been here before and I know the expectations of this club. Hopefully, I should begin training with the side next week,” he said.

Interestingly, his first match of the season will be against Wassaman on 9 October as Heart of Lions welcome them to the Kpando Park.

Fabin left Heart of Lions in 2008 after winning the Premier League’s best coach for that season.
