Everton to sign Appiah?

According to Skysports.com, English premiership side, Everton, are weighing up a move for Fenerbahce's Stephen Appiah.

Everton boss David Moyes is drawing up a list of targets of midfield reinforcements after missing out on Manuel Fernandes.

Moyes has money set aside to bring in a new midfielder and he is now believed to be ready to switch his attentions to Appiah.

The Ghana international's future at Fenerbahce has been the subject of intense speculation all summer with a number of clubs chasing the midfield dynamo's signature.

Fenerbahce are loath to lose their star midfielder and have rejected a couple of bids from Schalke already this summer.

West Ham have also been credited with an interest in the former Juventus man, but now Everton have entered the equation.

Appiah is believed to be interested in a move away from Fenerbahce and England is thought to be his first choice of destination.

Everton could now firm up their interest in Appiah as they face a race against time to bring in any new signings with the transfer window closing on Friday
