Essien to miss Ghana match

Michael Essien is likely to miss Ghana's friendly against Saudi Arabia in Riyadh on Monday through injury.

Ghana team officials said Essien did not travel with several of his team mates from London at the weekend for the match, Ghana's first since securing World Cup qualification.

Officials did not give any details of his injury.

Essien played a major role in helping Ghana to qualify for the World Cup finals for the first time.
