Essien rejects €5m Trabzonspor offer?

Ghana international Michael Essien has reportedly rejected a €2.5m a year offer from Turkish side Trabzonspor amidst rumours that new Milan manager Filippo Inzaghi is not keen on counting on his services in the upcoming season.

AC Milan last week received a €4m offer to let go the former Chelsea midfielder in a deal which would have seen him earn €2.5m a season for two years but Essien is said to be unconvinced about a move to Turkey and would consider other options.

Meanwhile Essien, 31, after participating in the 2014 World Cup together with his compatriot Sulley Muntari who recently earned a one-year extension are scheduled to join Milan’s pre-season training camp in the United States by July 23.

Essien was signed by Milan as a free agent this January in an 18-month contract. He made 9 appearances for the Rossoneri in the 2013/14 season.
