Ernest Thompson blasts Hearts over bad signings

Former Hearts of Oak board secretary Ernest Thompson has questioned the club recruitment policy after a poor showcase in the off-season.

The Phobians are yet to win a high profile match in pre-season after two defeats to Libyan side Ahli Tripoli.

At the FirsTrust G6 tournament, Hearts drew 0-0 with Aduana and lost 1-0 to Medeama.

Pressure has mounted on head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi but Thompson says management must take the flak for signing bog-standard players.

"I don’t know the structures the current management is using, but during our time we usually sit down with the coach. There was a recruitment policy and we worked together but I don’t know what is being done now,” Thompson told Nhyira FM.

"What I do hope is that the CEO and the rest know what they are doing and what they’re willing to do.

"But you can only hope if you’re confronted your view will be accepted to help sort out whatever problem they’re having. Notwithstanding, I just hope that the team have success."
