Emmanuel Afranie: "We could do nothing"

Coming in second place, the trainer of Ghana Emmanuel Afranie said in the locker room that his team “could do nothing against the Argentinean superiority” in the outscore suffered during the final of the tournament.

“It would be unreasonable to say that Argentina do not deserve the title. They were, no doubt, the best team”, added Afranie, who was also very happy for the second place obtained: “It is a great honour, we are proud”.

Finally, the trainer referred to the improvement that this tournament means for football in his country: “The overall balance is good, very positive. We came here to learn from the good football played here and try to improve. I think we’ve improved a lot”.

The National Team of Ghana lost their chance to become champions of the category again as in Australia ’93, when they fell in the final match against another South American opponent: Brazil.
