Eight World Cup virgins head for Germany

The lineup for the 2006 World Cup to be held in Germany was completed Wednesday when Australia, Trinidad and Tobago, Switzerland, Spain and the Czech Republic advanced to end the qualifying stages.

Ghana, Togo, Ivory Coast, Angola, Ukraine, Trinidad & Tobago, Serbia & Montenegro, Czech Republic (last appearance as the former Czechoslovakia), will be making their debut.

Australia is in the finals after a 32-year absence.

The 32 countries are Germany (host), Croatia, Czech Republic, England, France, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Serbia & Montenegro, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine from Europe.

From South America comes Argentina, defending champion Brazil, Ecuador and Paraguay.

Representing Africa are Angola, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Togo and Tunisia.

Asia is sending Iran, Japan, Saudi Arabia and South Korea.

CONCACAF qualifiers are Costa Rica, Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago and the United States, while Australia represents Oceania.

The draw takes place in Leipzig on Dec 9. The tournament will kick off on June 9 in Munich and end on July 9 in Berlin.
