Egypt propose October 10 friendly with Meteors

The Egypt FA have written to their Ghanaian counterparts requesting to host an international friendly between the male U-23 teams of both sides on October 10, footy-Ghana.com can reveal.

Both countries are yet to be fed with the schedule for the qualifiers for the 2015 All Africa Games by the Confederation of African Football but will if sanctioned, use the friendly as a preparatory exercise.

Ghana unlike other countries is yet to call players to camp to prepare in anticipation of the yet to be known qualifying fixtures which will begin by the close of the year.

However, Footy-Ghana sources reveal head coach of the Black Meteors Malik Jabir is preparing to call 60 players to camp beginning September 1.

The huge squad, Footy-Ghana understands will be called in two separate batches for a bi-weekly justify-your-inclusion exercise from which the size will be pruned down to a core 23.

Next year's All Africa Games which will be its eleventh edition will be hosted in Brazaville.
