Egypt and Ghana have equal chances - Hassan

Egypt legend, Hossam Hassan, has said both the Pharaohs and Ghana have equal chances of reaching the World Cup in Brazil when they clash in the play-offs.

The two African giants were paired earlier this month for a place at the global showpiece next summer.

Ghana will host the first leg in Kumasi on October 15, with the return leg scheduled for Cairo on November 19.

Ahead of the clash, the top scorer of the Egyptian national team, Hossam Hassan admits the game is a match of equal strengths.

"Their chances are equal in that match. Both sides have many similarities; the outcome may depend on small details,” the 47-year-old said in an interview with Al-Hayat TV.

"Ghana have some young and experienced players, many of whom are playing in strong European teams.

"Egypt are the same, boasting different types of players, including many skilful ones,” the coach of the Jordan national team added.

Hassan scored 68 goals in 176 appearances for the Pharaohs.
