Edubiase to give Dong Bortey a lifeline

New Edubiase United have established talks with three-time Ghana Premier League winner Bernard Dong Bortey to augment their squad for the coming season, the club’s President has told Footy-Ghana.

The 30-year-old who recently returned for Aduana Stars after a 12-month ban by the Ghana Football Association for assaulting a match official during a Ghanaian FA Cup tie between Aduana Stars and King Solomon FC at Dormaa two seasons ago.

The 1999 Ghana FIFA U17 World Cup bronze medal winner is keen on bouncing back to the limelight.

“Dong Bortey has indicated he will want to join us next season and we are keen to get him considering his wealth of experience.

“He will be a good addition to our squad but at the moment, there is nothing concrete yet,” Yakubu Abdul Salam said.

Edubiase are already busy in the transfer market and are on the verge of landing Berekum Chelsea duo Awudu Nafiu and Musa Mohammed.

The club is keeping tabs on Heart of Lions goalie Joseph Addo, but face stiff opposition from Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold who are as well in talks for the ex-junior national team goalkeeper.
