Ebusua Dwarfs have sealed promotion back to the Ghana Premier League at the first time of asking after relegation from the top flight last season.

The side, managed by veteran coach JE Sarpong, travelled to grind out a 0-0 result at second-placed Elmina Sharks to secure promotion from Zone Two of the Ghana Division One League with two matches to spare.

Dwarfs, who have had a consistent run all season after match day 28, have amassed 67 points – 10 better than Elmina Sharks and Bibiani GoldStars who are tied on the same points after the weekend’s round of games.

In their 28 games so far, Dwarfs have secured 22 wins, a draw and five defeats. They remain the most prolific side across the three zones of the Ghana Division one, having scored 64 times and conceded 20 goals.

Forward Bright Lukman has been Dwarfs’ hatchet man this campaign as he currently has a ratio of one goal per match, topping the scorers’ chart with 28 goals in as many games, including 22 assists.

Barring any boardroom decisions, Dwarfs will compete in the 2015/16 First Capital Plus Premier League which has been tentatively set for a November/December start.

Two promotion places are currently left for the winners of Zone One and Three of the GN Bank Division One League.
