Eastern Region FA promotes five teams to division two

Five teams from the Eastern Region third division soccer league have qualified to play in division two this season.

The clubs gained promotion as a result of their good performance at the Eastern Regional Middle League Zone A, which ended at Kraboa-Coaltar, in the Suhum District on Sunday.

They are World Vision Stars, of Coaltar, Sanaahene Academy, Young El Ahly and Black Boys, all from Asamankese and Abodom Spikers from Kade.

Mr. Martin Bruce, Regional Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, who supervised the 5-day tournament, told the GNA Sports that he was happy about the keen competition, which characterized the tournament.

He said there is the need for the management of clubs to advise their supporters to comport themselves at match venues and called on the players to train harder in order to improve upon their performance.

Mr. Bruce commended the Coaltar Police and the local boys who provided security during the event.
