Dutch clubs hunt for Ghanaian-born striker Opoku

The Ghanaian-born striker who is yet to be capped by either Ghana or Netherlands is on the radar of several Dutch clubs

Ghanaian-born striker Jonathan Opoku is being tracked by a host of Dutch Eredivisie clubs including VVV Venlo and Ado Den Hag.

Opoku spent two years at Veendem but decided not to renew his contract in the wake of the club’s bankruptcy which eventually led the management to dissolve it in March and he has been a free agent since.

The hugely talented striker was at the club from 2011 to 2013 scoring 11 goals in 53 appearances who has now caught the eyes of several clubs in The Netherlands and teams in neighbouring Belgium.

The 23-year-old forward was Born in the Dutch city of Zutphen. He was one of the most trusted players of the club and was inline for club captaincy before the club went on insolvency.
