Durban hosts AFCON 2013 Draw

South Africa will be a bee-hive of activities next week as Durban in the Kwazulu-Natal province hosts the Confederation of African Football (CAF) delegation and great African football stars for the final draw of the 29th edition of Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) which will take place from January 19 to February 10 next year in the country.
The draw scheduled for October 24th this year is the final phase to announce team pairings at the competition after all sixteen qualified teams emerged last week after the last round of qualifying matches across the continent.
Meanwhile, South African Tourism, the national tourism agency responsible for the marketing of South Africa as a preferred tourist destination will host media from Nigeria, Ghana and other parts of Africa to cover the final draw event of AFCON 2013.
As part of the itinerary for the hosted media, there will be a tour of the Moses Mabhida Stadium, one of the 2010 FIFA World Cup stadia also hosting AFCON 2013 as well as the city tour of Durban including famous shark cage diving.
Durban famous for being the busiest port in South Africa is the third largest city in the country after Johannesburg and Cape Town. It is also seen as one of the major centres of tourism because of the city's warm subtropical climate and extensive beaches.
Final teams for South Africa 2013 includes host country, South Africa, Nigeria, Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Ghana and tournament first-timers, Cape Verde. Others are, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Mali, Morocco, Niger, Togo, Tunisia and Zambia.
AFCON 2013 finals will take place in five South African cities; Johannesburg, Durban, Port-Elizabeth, Nelspruit and Rustenburg.
