Duncan targets eight new signings

The head coach of Hearts of Oak David Duncan has handed in a list of eight players to the club management he would want to sign on for next season.

The 20-time Ghana top-flight champions have gone four seasons without winning the Premier League and the ex-Ashgold coach wants to build a fearsome side during the off-season to make a strong challenge for the league title next season.

Duncan has been credited for pulling Hearts from the foot of relegation to finish the season on the 5th spot after losing just one game during the second half of the season. He has confirmed he was committed to seeing out his contract with the Phobians.

The Public Relations Officer of the club, Muheeb Saeed, said the Phobians want to end their trophy drought by preparing very well for next season.

“Our season has been of two different halves - poor first round and brilliant second round and we want to build on the performances of our second round league campaign for next season and coach Duncan has already started working on that,” Saeed said to Bolgatanga-based GBC Ura Radio.

“Coach Duncan has submitted the names of eight players to the management and they are all playing in the Ghana Premier League, but we don't want to mention names for now because we are not the only team in the market.”
