Duncan sacking can only guide me - Polo

Newly recruited Hearts of Oak head coach Mohammed Polo says the sacking of former head coach David Duncan will only guide him in his actions.

He told footy-ghana.com that he has taken a cue from what transpired between his new club and the former Ashanti Gold trainer, adding that even though he has been told why Duncan was fired, he wouldn’t go into details.

“I have learnt a lot from what happened to Duncan and I am ready to learn and get even better. The board of directors explained to me what happened between the two parties but I am not in to talk what actually went into the sacking of Duncan. I am here to help.

"I was appointed by the board to help the club win the league and that is what I’m set to do. We have a difficult task ahead of us and that is what we will be concentrating on in the next few weeks ahead of us.”

He also told footy-ghana.com that even though fans of the club are not in favour of his appointment, if the club wins matches regularly the fans will get behind the team.

“They will have no choice but to support the team. This team is loved by many, and they will support us on any day. I have nothing against the fans. “They are good people and they will have to support not me but the team because if we win we win together and that is what I want them to understand. This is a club I played for and I love and I cannot turn my back on the team, so I want them to do the same for this club.”
