Newly appointed coach of Asante Kotoko David Duncan says he is extremely happy to add another high-profile team to his curriculum vitae.

The former Hearts of Oak coach signed a two-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors last week after they parted ways with Mas-Ud Dramani.

According to Duncan, never having the chance to manage the Kumasi-based club in his career would have been “criminal and regretful”, and that the job has come to complete his dreams.

“If I hadn't accepted the offer to coach Asante Kotoko it would have been criminal on my part to do so,” Duncan told Asante Kotoko official website.

“I have coached where my father hails from along the coast with Hasaacas and where I was raised that is in Accra, with Hearts and Olympics. And so it's time to come home. I call here (Kumasi) home because it's my mother's home and my great grandfather was a chief in one of the towns near Nkawie,” he said.

Duncan is currently in Algeria with his new team ahead of their Saturday’s Caf Champions League round of 16 first leg match against Mouloudia Club in El Eulma.

Other teams previously managed by the coach are AshGold, South African club Free State Stars and Ghana’s U17 and U23 sides.
