Duncan: I don’t know my players’ age

Head Coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, David Duncan has admitted that he does not know the average age of his players, but was quick to add that age is not a prerogative during his selections.

The issue of the players’ age came to light when some of the fans of Kumasi Asante Kotoko noted that one of the reasons why the team lost to MC El Eulma in the CAF Champions League was the usage of overaged players.

Speaking to the media at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Coach Duncan said, “I will not be able to tell how old my players are because I don’t know their ages.

As a matter of fact, the basis of my choice of players is not based on their ages,” Duncan said.

“My philosophy of who plays and who does not play has got nothing to do with age,” he added.

Many Kotoko fans had argued that the ages of some of the players had caused their lethargic performance against El Eulma in the champions league.
