Dujkovic Arrives Sunday

Graphic -- Serbian Ratomir Dujkovic arrives in Accra on Sunday to take over the rest of the Black Stars? World Cup qualifying campaign, after succeeding Portuguese Mariano Barreto. And, like his predecessor, Dujkovic will work on a salary that will be charged to the account of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

Besides that he will be accommodated by the same ministry while his vehicle will also be at the expense of the governmental body.A source at the ministry told the Graphic last Wednesday that the entire sum of the new coach?s salary will be borne by the ministry in view of the GFA?s weak financial base.

The GFA relies mainly on the 10 per cent deductions from the cross-border transfer of Ghanaian players, and with just that it has been unable to support the hiring of a foreign coach over the years. The ministry had thus provided the financial support for the sustenance of Ghana?s coaches in the past.

The Honda four-wheel vehicle acquired purposely for Black Stars coaches will be at the disposal of Dujkovic for as long as he stays on the two-year job.Dujkovic became Ghana?s 34th coach in history after winning the contest ahead of Frenchman Philippe Troussier and Ghanaian Bashiru Hayford, the two men who emerged at the finishing line with the Serbian.

He was originally expected to start work on December 1.He led Rwanda to their first ever appearance at the Nations Cup in Tunisia early this year.
