Duayaw-Nkwanta Park banned

Sunyani (B/A), Jan. 5, GNA - Brong Ahafo Regional Football Association (BARFA) has closed down Duayaw-Nkwanta Town Park, the home ground of local Tano Ajax F/C, whose supporters physically assaulted players and officials of Bechem United F/C during a match between the two sides.

The association said its decision was based on the referee's report and an independent observer.

The association's letter indicated that so severe was the assault that most of the players and officials of Bechem United were hospitalized while others were treated and discharged.

It further quoted the reports and said, "almost all the supporters of Tano Ajax went to the field with sticks and other dangerous implements. Supporters chased the players from the field and most of them took refuge in some nearby homes land managed to leave the town after 7 pm that day".
