Douglas Nkrumah keen to sort out Hearts of Oak future

Hearts of Oak star midfielder Douglas Nkrumah is already so fired up for next season, he wants talks with the club on a new contract sorted out swiftly. Nkrumah’s previous deal with the club expired at the close of last season and talks so far have failed to yield any dividends. ALL SPORTS is reliably informed that the playmaker is demanding something in the region of GH?70,000 (seventy thousand Ghana Cedis) before he puts pen to paper but the club are adamant. But even though Nkrumah will not reveal any details, he confirmed that he met with the Hearts of Oak top brass just over a fortnight ago about the new contract but he has yet to get a response, as at press time yesterday.

“Lots of clubs keep calling me with big offers everyday but I am not listening because I love Hearts. The past three years that I’ve been here have not been really the best for the club but I have still enjoyed myself and I want to stay here for a long time to come,” Nkrumah told ALL SPORTS. The left footed star added:

“Last season was especially good for me even though the club struggled. I prayed to God to help me score a goal in every game to help Hearts. And I thank God so much for those 12 matches in which I scored. This year I want to help the team win trophies, not just score goals for myself. But all depends on whether or not we can agree a deal.”
