Dossena to coach Ghana again?

...He resigns as Albania coach

TIRANA, Albania (November 11, 2002 3:27 p.m. EST) - Italian coach Giuseppe Dossena resigned as the national coach of Albania on Monday, saying the country's journalists had made his job impossible.

"Dossena said the main reason for his resignation were the journalists who had created an unfavorable atmosphere," said the Albanian Football Federation's general secretary Sulejman Starova.

However press reports said the real reason for Dossena's resignation was an offer to coach the national team of an unspecified African country.

Dossena, 43, only took up the Albania job in July and led them to a draw with Switzerland in the first 2004 European Championships qualifier before losing 4-1 to Russia last month.

He was a member of Italy's 1982 World Cup-winning squad, but did not feature in the 3-1 final victory over West German in Madrid.
