Donsu to pick up MTN FA Cup goal king award

Medeama SC’s Kwesi Donsu will receive the top scorer award at this year’s MTN FA Cup Awards Night on Friday September 25 after scoring six (6) goals in the competition.

The midfielder scored a brace each in Medeama’s quarter-final match against WAFA and in the semi-final against Hearts of Oak at the Cape Coast Stadium after a goal in their 2-1 win over Kade United in the Round of 64.

Donsu also gave the Mauves the opener in the grand finale to help his side annex the MTN FA Cup trophy for the second time in the last three years.

Striker Isaac Eshun also propelled Division Two side Great Astronomers to reach the Round of 16 of this year’s competition, scoring five goals in the process.

Eleven Wise forward Vincent Bekoe and Aduana’s Daniel Darkwah all scored four goals for their sides while seven players scored three goals each for their respective teams.

The Awards Night event which will be held at the State Banquet Hall will see deserving players and officials of the participating clubs awarded for their performance in this year’s competition.

Other categories that will be up for grabs on the Awards Night include the Best Defender, Best Goalkeeper, Best Coach the Top Scoring Club, Most Promising Player, Best Referee, Best Assistant Referee Fair Play, Most Promising Referee and Match Commissioner of the Tournament.

The most prestigious award on the night will go to the Most Valuable Player for the 2014/15 MTN FA Cup season.
