Donkor marks full Europa League debut with Inter

Ghanaian youth defender Isaac Donkor marked his full debut in the Uefa Europa League for Inter Milan on Thursday evening as he played full throttle in their stalemate at Azerbaijani side Qaraba?.

The 19-year-old Ghana U20 prospect was handed a starting role by manager Roberto Mancini at the Tofiq Bhramov adina Respublika stadionu and he lasted the entire duration of the Group F tie.

Donkor, along with three other youngsters were given spots in the starting line-up for the game and he was one of the players who excelled in the game.

While this is the first time the Kumasi-born defender has made a first team appearance for the Nerazzurris this season, he has already played in the competition with the same side – three seasons ago under Andrea Stramaccioni.

Inter went into the game having already qualified for the knock out rounds and Mancini decided to allow his youngsters get a feel of first team action.

Mancini who took over from Walter Mazzarri is noted for developing young players as he is credited for the nurturing of Italian striker Mari Balotelli.

Donkor is limited to Primavera action for Inter Milan where is the captain of the side.
