Doku to run as sole candidate for vacant RFA seat

Nii Komiete Doku will enter Thursday's bye-election for Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association as the only candidate.

Congress of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association will gather on Thursday, August 23, 2012 to elect a new chairman to fill the vacancy left since the passing of the Vice President of the GFA, Jordan Anagblah in June of this year.

A GFA statement said: "We confirm that his [Nii Komiete Doku] nomination met all eligibility requirements and that he was the sole candidate as at the close of nomination on 6th August 2012.

"We hereby recommend, in accordance with Article 28.7 of the GFA Statutes and Clause 15.2 of the Guidelines for Election of Chairman of the Great Accra Regional Football Association - July 2012, that he be presented to the Gt. Accra RFA Congress to be elected as the sole candidate."
