Real Sportive shock AC Olympiakos ...BRM beat Odupong 2-0

TEMA Real Sportive played a determined game to beat AC Olympiakos 2-1 in their national first division league match played at the Legon Park yesterday.Ironically, it was Olympiakos who opened the scoring in the 47th minute through right winger Maxwell Hetor.

Sportive rallied and snatched the equaliser in the 55th minute through centre forward Kamil Yunus, but just as the match was heading for a draw, Mike Ocansey found the winning goal for Spotive in the 80th minute.

? BRM Stars beat Odupong Heroes 2-0 in their first division league match played at the Cape Coast Sports stadium last Saturday.

BRM Stars who were beaten 3-0 by Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs at Swedru last Wednesday could not just afford to lose for the second time and made victory certain in the 74th minute.Playing under the instruction of Tarkwa-based class one referee, Peter E. Ekobor, Odupong Heroes nearly took the lead in the 10th minute but outside right Samuel Adjei, with only the goalkeeper to beat, shot over the bar.

The game became a ding-dong affair from then on, but in the 25th minute Papa Acquah collected a pass and outpaced two defenders to score the opener.Odupong Heroes were reduced to nine men in the second half when two key players, Ibrahim Kadiri and Edward Acquah, were shown the red card for the second bookable offences.

Players and supporters of Heroes, apparently dissatisfied with the referee's decision, invaded the field and attacked him. In the heat of the commotion, reserve goalkeeper Papa Tandoh punched the face of the referee while his colleagues manhandled him.Play was held up for six minutes to enable the referee to be attended to.

BRM made victory certain when they scored the second goal in the 74th minute.

Sportnet bow to King Solomon

KING Solomon FC yesterday forced Sportnet to taste their first defeat when they beat them 2-0 in their Division One League match played at the Accra Stadium.King Solomon needed a goal in each half to ensure their victory. Before then, Sportnet had won their first two games by 3-1 and 4-0 margins.

However, the Accra Stadium was to be their Waterloo as their opponents gave them one hell of a match. For Sportnet, one player who will forever remain in their memory in respect of this victory is former junior international goalkeeper, Raymond Fenny, who used his rich experience to pull off many grand saves.

Interestingly, it was Fenny who set King Solomon on the winning trail with a 30th-minute penalty goal. Issaka Amadu Bonsu completed the demolition work on Sportnet with a 61st-minute strike.? At Ho, Midtijiland Maamobi secured their second victory in three matches with a 1-0 victory over Kwaebibirem Fire Stars. The only goal of the match was scored by Adnan Ali from a Kwabena Ampeh pass.

?In Obuasi, Adansiman also registered a 2-1 win over White Eagles.

? Accra-based Khalid Stars held Ho Voradep to a 1-1 drawn game in their third week Division One league match played at the Tema Sports Stadium last Saturday. Khalid Stars opened the scores against the run of play in the 35th minute through centre forward Issahaku Iddrisu.
