Division One: Bonus for League clubs

THE Chairman of the Division One League (DOL) Board, Mr Douglas Djarbeng, has instituted a special award scheme to enhance goal-scoring in the ongoing competition.

The scheme will see the highest scoring club per week receiving ?100,000 cash prize as an incentive.

According to Mr Djarbeng, the newly-introduced scheme is a personal decision to encourage the art of goal-scoring as well as generate more excitement in the league.Explaining the criteria for selecting the highest scoring club for the award, he noted that any club which scores three or more goals in any particular week stands the chance of getting the prize.

He disclosed that Heart of Lions who thrashed Mighty Royals 4-1 in the first week will be the first team to receive the award. He emphasised that in case two or more clubs engage in a drawn game which records three or more goals, both teams can still qualify for the award.
