Ho Home Stars win

Ho, Oct 6, GNA-Ho-based Home Stars Football Club on Sunday played a determined game to beat MaxBees FC of Accra by a lone goal in their Division One League (DOL) match honoured at the Ho Sports Stadium. Home Stars, which put up a spirited performance, broke the jinx in the 85th minute, when substitute Majeed Alhassan, barely 30 seconds old in the game, nodded home the 17th corner-kick taken by Ernest Gbegbeawo. MaxBees goalie Nana Yaw who put up a splendid performance, denied the home team of getting away with a cricket score, as he stood tall in the post and prevent any ball from beating him.

Asamerik F/C pip Breku FC 2-0

Cape Coast, Oct.5, GNA - Cape Coast-based Asamerik F/C beat Efutu Breku FC 2-0 in their second division league match played at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium at the weekend. After a goalless first half in which Breku out classed their opponents, Asamerik resumed the second half strongly to score two rapid goals to carry the day. Joe Yeboah, in a solo effort, opened the scoring in the 53rd minute. In the 55th minute, he rounded up the entire defence of Breku, gave a diagonal pass for Musah Shaibu, to seal the doom of the visitors.

Real United wins

Cape Coast, Oct.6, GNA-Nyenasin Real United dished out a painful 1-0 defeat to Oguaa United in their second division league match played at the Cape coast sports stadium on Saturday. And as if Oguaa United were destined to loose the match, they threw away a penalty kick awarded them in the 75th minute. After a goalles first half in which Real United outclassed Oguaa United, the Oguaa boys took control of the match on resumption and earned a penalty kick when a hard pressed defender of the visiting team handled the ball in the "18".

But centre forward, Edward Gypi Smith, who took the kick shot wide to the disappointment of their supporters. From then on, the game became a ding dong battle and when all things pointed to draw game outside left, Eric Nuamah, connected home a right wing cross from John Mensah in the 80th minute.
