Develop Youth Soccer in Ghana - Danish coach

Accra, Feb 9, GNA - Mr Lars Vind Hansen, coach of the youth side and scout of Esberg FC, a Danish Football Club has suggested to soccer administrators to develop football among the youth beginning at their tender ages.

He said this is the best and surest way to developing soccer in Ghana, adding that the children can easily learn the techniques of football and have the enthusiasm to imbibe any instructions at such tender ages.

Mr Vind Hansen who spoke to the GNA Sports in Accra is among the three-man Danish Delegation who arrived in the country some weeks ago to conduct feasibility studies for striking a partnership deal with premier league side, Kpando Heart of Lions.

He said in Denmark, the development of soccer starts at the age of four where children are thought the basic skills of football. The Danish Youth coach was of the view that this is the best way the country's soccer prowess can be developed and sustained.

Mr Vind Hansen said Danish football has benefited immensely from the involvement of the youth in the development of soccer.

He promised to mobilise sporting equipment in Denmark for the youth team of Heart of Lions as part of their contribution to the game. Mr Vind Hansen said he has observed that the youth of Ghana have great football potentials that needed to be properly harnessed to the advantage of the country.

Kpando based club will from this year have technical and corporate assistance from their Danish counterparts.

The club is expected to benefit from kits and corporate sponsorship as well as the provision of technical assistance.
