Desailly: I Will Re-Apply For Black Stars Coaching Job

Ghanaian-born former France captain Marcel Desailly said he would apply again for the Ghana coaching job in the near future, despite his sudden withdrawal as a result of frustrations.

The 42-year-old sounds certain with ESPNsoccernet of securing the job in the future, by which time he might have completed his coaching badges.

"I will be Ghana coach for sure, but I will not be their coach this year. I'm finishing my coaching badges and I will be available for coaching in the future,” the former Chelsea defender said.

“I think I have skills as a coach to show and to bring back to kids or at a professional level."

The 1998 World Cup winner announced his decision to withdraw from the five-man shortlist last week because “unfortunately they [FA] have taken too long to decide.”

"Since September I expressed my interest, they have not been able to decide on what is a major issue for them. I have put my private life and professional life on standby.”

With the 2000 European Championship winner for France out and the axing of Turkish coach Can Vanli, the battle is set between ex-Morocco coach Humberto Cuelho, former Partizan Belgrade coach Goran Stevanovic and local Black Stars coach Herbert Addo.
