Debutants Dreams FC faces stern test at Cape Coast against Dwarfs

Promoted Dreams FC will make their debut in the Ghanaian top-flight league at Cape Coast on Sunday when they play as guests of Ebusua Dwarfs at the Robert Mensah Stadium.

The Kweiman based club will hope to get their season off to a great start with a win when they come up against one of the traditional sides in Ghana football.

They gained promotion to the Ghanaian premiership by winning the second tier league in Zone Three amid some controversy, and, will look to put that behind them as they compete for attention.

Coach Charles K. Akunnor seems to have done a pretty decent job in preparing his charges for the start of the season, and, their readiness will be put to the test as they visit Cape Coast to take on Dwarfs.

Dreams FC lost their final pre-season friendly to Accra Hearts of Oak with whom they played two games at the Dawu Park last Sunday. They will hope that setback won’t affect their fortunes in Sunday’s season opener.

Winning in at the Robert Mensah Stadium will not come easy as Dwarfs are very formidable on home soil and will themselves like to kick-off their campaign on a high with a win.

The advantage is with them as they play at home and their coach Joseph E. Sarpong has said they intend to make the Robert Mensah Stadium a fortress for visiting team next season.

This certainly makes the task confronting Dreams FC a huge one and they will have to play at their maximum if they hope to come away with anything from this game.

Dwarfs suffered relegation from the premiership two seasons ago, but, have made a quick return to the elite division after they won the Division One Zone Two national league.

Fans that will turn up at the Robert Mensah Stadium on Sunday should, therefore, have something to cheer about as Dreams FC look to register their first point(s) in the top-flight league against a side that is determined to make the most of their home advantage.
