Dawu Youngsters to bounce back soon

Accra, Jan 13. GNA - Mr Seth Yeboah Founder and Chairman of Dawu Youngsters Football Club has said his club would soon make a come back to the national division one league.

Speaking to the GNA Sports in Accra on Tuesday, Mr Yeboah said the management board of the team was gradually putting in place the needed structures to ensure their come back within the 2004 football season. Mr Yeboah said they are making frantic efforts to seek for sponsorship from corporate bodies world-wide as well as partnership from individuals to enable the team gather enough financial resources for the season.

The chairman said "all things being equal Dawu Youngsters would surely make an appearance in the division one league this year". He said the present management do not want the club to face financial problems in their days as happened previously in the premiership hence they are working hard to ensure that a sound financial background is built before they make an appearance.

Mr Yeboah however stated that they would not participate in the league if they fail to secure the needed financial backing and partnership.

Dawu joined the elite division in the mid 90s and registered their name as one of the bogey clubs to many clubs in the premier league but due to financial pressures they were relegated to the Division League One after the 2002 league season.

The club's plight worsened when they failed again to raise funds to participate in the Division One league and was replaced by Maamobi Mitdjyland and had to be relegated to the division two league.
