Dagaaba win fun games

Dagaaba collected 13 points to win the Fifth Annual Frafra-Dagaaba Fun games held at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra on Saturday.

The games, which aim at fostering good relationship between the two communities in the Northern Region, saw Dagaaba winning the Under-15 soccer match 2-1.

Dagaaba also beat Frafra in the Men's Tug-of-War 2-0, won the women's soccer 3-0, and the men's sack Race. They however drew 1-1 in the Men's soccer.

The Frafras won the Women's Tug-of-War 2-0, and the women's sack race event.

Both communities entertained the large crowd, which included Mr Peter Nanfuri, former Inspector-General of Police, and Mr Alban Bagbin, Minority Leader in Parliament, with cultural display.

Mrs Akansakima Masters, a retired public servant, called on the two communities to remain united at all times.

She said the times when communities were at each other's throat should be a thing of the past and therefore urged the two communities to forge ahead and fight for a common goal.

Mr Nanfuri also asked them to strengthen the already existing cordial relationship between them.
