Coconut Grove sharks draw with Metro F/C

Cape Coast, April 14, GNA - Sekondi Metro Sports played a highly determined game to hold Elmina Coconut Grove Sharks to 1-1 draw in their First Division League match played at Robert Mensah stadium at Cape Coast at the week end.

After referee Ebenezer Gyamfi signaled the two sides into action it, was Metro Sports who scored the opener through a spot kick taken by midfielder Ebow Mends in the 41st minute. Coconut Grove Sharks returned the attack and made several efforts to equalize but they could not find the net until the end of the first half.

Back from the recess, Coconut Grove Sharks took absolute command of the game but they had to wait until the 64th minute before Awortwe Mensah's 18-yard shot beat Metro Sports goalkeeper to bring the scores at par. Results of other matches were Tarkwa United spanked Starke 4-1, Ebusua Dwarfs drew 1-1 with Westlandies while Feyenoored whipped Windy Professionals 5-1.
