Coca Cola matches rescheduled for Thursday

Accra, Feb 9, GNA - The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has rescheduled the next matches of the on-going Coca Cola Top Four Tournament to Thursday, February 12.

Following this arrangement, the matches between Hearts and Liberty at the Accra Sports Stadium and Kumasi Asante Kotoko and King Faisal at the Kumasi Sports Stadium will be played on Thursday contrary to the original arrangements for the matches to be played on Wednesday.

Mr Kudjoe Fianoo, Adminstrative Manager of GHALCA told the GNA Sports that the postponement was due to the on-going Nations Cup matches which have reached the semi final stage and will attract football loving fans.

He said the change of date is therefore to allow the Ghanaian fans the opportunity to watch the Top Four matches adding that it is obvious that the local fans will prefer to stay home and watch the Nations Cup matches instead of the Top Four hence the decision to change the date.

Mr Fianoo expressed the hope that the decision will afford more soccer fans to patronise matches of the competition which are getting keener match after match. However, he said the tournament is expected to end on Sunday, February 15, as scheduled.
