Club Demands Share Of Stephen Appiah's Transfer

An Accra Juvenile club side, Mighty Victory last Wednesday embarked on a street protest against the reluctance of Hearts of Oak to pay to them their share of Stephen Appiah's transfer fee as enshrined in the contract clause.

According to the management of the club, Hearts of Oak have failed to comply with the Player Transfer Commission's recommendation that Hearts should pay Mighty Victory 30% share of $220,000 Hearts earned for transferring Appiah to Italy's Udinese in 1995.

According to Mr R.S.A Young, he is appealing to the F.A. and the Government to step into the matter to force Hearts to offset the bill to enhance their efforts at hunting for talents to enrich both juvenile and professional football in the country.

"The government should, as a matter of urgency, revisit the White Paper that was issued on the Gbadegbe Commission's report and ensure its full implementation.

He threatened to take more serious action against Hearts if they still remain adamant but declined to give details.
