Chinese and US clubs pursue Essien

Greek giants Panathinaikos could lose Ghana midfielder Michael Essien as clubs in the U.S and China continue to monitor his situation in Greece.

Essen, saw his home burgled by robbers last week and has cast a frustrated figure since then.

The Ghanaian was an unused substitute as his side beat Gianina 3-0 on Sunday evening with many pundits claiming Essien was not in the right frame of mind for the game.

Other reports have claimed a fractious relationship with boss Andreas Stramaccioni in the last 48 hours which has left Michael pondering a swift exit from the club.

Panathinaikos have never hidden their intention to extend Essien's time in Greece but with growing concerns over the former Chelsea midfielder’s happiness other clubs could be encouraged to put in a bid.
