Charles Taylor fires Chelsea into Glo8 final

Reigning league champions Berekum Chelsea have qualified for the final of the Glo8 tournament, beating AshGold 2-0 in Sunyani.

Charles Taylor scored in the 47th minute after the first half ended without much action. Abdul Basit, who has proven to be inspired in his captain´s role, scored in the 58th minute to book the Blues´ place in the final.

The game was played Thursday afternoon at the Sunyani with Chelsea having the bulk of the support. Their home base, Berekum, is only thirty minutes from today´s venue. The league champions went into the game as favourites, having topped the group.

They play the winner of the other semifinal between Medeam and New Edubiase. The Glo8 tournament is organized by the Ghana League Clubs Association.

Chelsea has already had a good year, having won the President´s Cup in addition to the Ghana Premier League. They only crashed out the FA Cup in the quarter final.
