Central region rout Brong-Ahafo region

Central region struck fear in the other regions when they routed Brong-Ahafo 6-0 in the soccer division of the inter-regional basic schools sports festival in Kumasi on Tuesday.

Salam Abudu of Central scored a hat-trick, bagging in goals in the 33rd, 46th and 71st minutes with Samuel Asempapa, Osman Awudu and Edem Nyadedzor providing the remaining three goals in the 63rd, 70th and 74th minutes respectively.

After Brong-Ahafo had held the Central region boys at bay for a considerable spell of time, Salam opened the flood gates with a classic 33rd minute goal to end the first half.

The Central lads went straight into action on resumption and Salam raised the tally to 2-0 in the 46th minute.

Asempapa followed with the third goal in the 63rd minute while Osman scored the third goal in the 70th minute and Salam crowned a great performance with his personal third goal in the 71st minute to raise the score to 5-0 before Edem completed the rout with a 74th minute goal to bring the score to 6-0.

In the other matches, host region, Ashanti beat Upper West 2-1 while Upper East beat Volta region 2-1 and Eastern region also scored another 2-1 win over Western region.
