CK Akunnor denies bonking claim

CK Akunnor has launched an emotional defence of his integrity by denying allegations by wife of Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu that he tried to have sexual intercourse with her.

He also rejected claims he slept with wife of former Ghana international Nii Odartey Lamptey.

In his first response since the allegation by Mrs Konadu was aired on Happy FM, Akunnor invoked God to answer for him over the allegation.

The ex-Ghana captain implied that such allegations are calculated to damage his reputation insisting the attempt will not succeed.

Linda Konadu made the shocking revelation about how the former Hearts coach attempted on numerous occasions to lure her into bed even though he knew she was a married woman.

In a leaked tape aired on Happy FM on March 31, 2014, Mrs. Konadu said her husband does not see eye-to-eye with his ex-international teammate due to the issue.

But speaking on the issue publicly for the first time, the former Wolfsburg captain has rubbished the allegations and insists they are geared towards tarnishing his reputation.

“It doesn’t tickle me. This is the first time that I’m speaking on the matter,” he told Accra-based Power FM.

“Why? Why?. It’s becoming too personal. Why do they talk about me? But again I’m doing what I have to do and God will answer for me.

“They should continue to destroy me, tarnish my image. They might have tarnished the flesh but not my spirit.

“My spirit is with the almighty. If you follow the story they talk about, it doesn’t really make sense but that’s their choice and that’s what they want to do.

“It’s just unfortunate. I don’t have a problem with Maxwell Konadu and Odartey Lamptey. If there is a need for us to talk, we’ll talk.

“I personally don’t have a beef. I don’t. If they do, I don’t. But I don’t think they even have a beef with me. People have just created that sort of things.”
