CAF completes Nations Cup seeds

Accra, Oct 19, GNA - The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named host Ghana, Nigeria, Tunisia and Egypt in the top tier for the 26th edition of the African Cup of Nations (Ghana CAN 2008). Four-time winners, Cameroon lead the pack in the second tier along with Cote D'Ivoire, Morocco and Senegal.

The third tier is made up of Guinea, Mali, South Africa and Zambia with the last tier comprising Angola, Benin, Namibia and Sudan. The draw for the Ghana 2008 tournament slated for the Accra International Conference Centre, (AICC) on Friday, October 19 would put four teams in Four Groups.

One team from each of the tiers will be allocated in a group. Information pieced together by GNA Sports indicates that Ghana will be based in Group A in Accra with Egypt as head of Group C in Kumasi. The seeding is determined by performance of past African Nation's Cup finals.
