CAF Calls Off Goldfields-Alviacao Match.

The Confederation of African Football has postponed Sunday's CAF Cup second round, first leg match between Goldfields and AS Aviacao of Angola, at Obuasi, due to three days of national mourning declared in Ghana after Wednesday's Accra Stadium tragedy.

The match has been rescheduled for Tuesday May 15 at the same venue, the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

On Thursday, the GFA said the match would go ahead with a minute's silence before kick-off, but on Sunday a memorial service was observed for the 126 victims, who died during a stampede at a top clash between archrivals Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko. The match could therefore not be played.

The deaths of the football fans has also affected football activities in Ghana with the Premier League suspended indefinitely. Arrangements are being made for various national team assignments in June though.

Black Stars' Caretaker Coach, Osam Duodu, has named a 22-man home-based squad on Friday evening for the African Nations Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe.

The Under-20 national team is also in camp and is due to travel to Europe for a training tour ahead of the World Championships in Argentina next month.
