Bursaspor to terminate Prince Tagoe’s contract

Bursaspor have penciled Ghana striker Prince Tagoe as one of the five players who would have their contracts terminated this summer.

According to Turkish sports website spor.bugun.com.tr, Tagoe, Ibrahim Kas, Teteh Bangoura, Petteri Forsell and Mehmet Sak would be released alongside 16 others.

Tagoe joined Bursaspor from TSG Hoffenheim in 2011 and only made 11 appearances for the club before being farmed out to his former club Al Ittifaq where he has featured eight times and scoring once.

It is not known whether Al Ittifaq will be willing to give Tagoe a lifeline by offering him a permanent contract.

The 26-year-old former Ghana Premiership goal king has failed to find his feet in Europe, despite excelling in the Gulf with clubs such as Al Ittifaq, Al Shabab, and Al Ittihad.

He managed just two goals in 20 appearances for Hoffeinheim during his two-year spell with the club before moving on loan to Partizan Belgrade where he scored nine times in 15 appearances, but failed to make the mark when he was bought by then Turkish champions Bursaspor.
