Bubii Warriors wins Homowo gala

Bubii Warriors defeated West Compound 1-0 to win this year’s Okaikoi Homowo Gala Championship played at the Kaneshie Bishop School Park on Saturday.

The only goal of the match was scored by Jude Bediako through a penalty in the 14th minute after a hard-pressed defender handled the ball in the box.

Warriors threw everything into the game in the second half but tried as they did, they could not find the net.

On their way to the finals, West Compound edged out Bishop Old Stars 5-4 on penalties while Bubii Warriors also eliminated Kwahu Babies 6-5 on penalties.

Ahmed Arthur, Member of Parliament for Okaikoi South said the competition was aimed at promoting peace and unity in the constituency.

He urged the youth to resist the temptation to cause chaos and anarchy in the constituency and Ghana as a whole.
